It Takes too Long to Learn to Live Again
This beautiful song by Eydie Gorme is a sad reminder of a lost love.
If you are still pining for the lost love, it is not fair to go into another relationship, because both partners are at a losing end. Both partners would not be able to give their best in the relationship.
And at parting of the ways, one or both of the partners may take one year or two to get over the failed relationship.
We have to move on. If you don’t have God with you, what you will be facing is inconsolable loneliness and emptiness.
This song tugs at one’s heart string, so sad, pitiful if you can not move on.
To expurgate any traces of the lost love, burn all reminders. Burn your bridges so you won’t look back.

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me
I was in my first year college when this song was popularized. I liked both the lyrics and the melody: "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" by British singer Dusty Springfield, released in 1966.
Thinking back now, I liked it probably at that time, it didn't matter because I didn't have a special someone yet. So, I didn't need reassurance of an "undying love."
But once you have a partner, a woman needs constant reassurance. This is where a man and a woman differs. (The feminists would probably disagree with me on this aspect)
"You don't have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever,
I will understand...
I will never tie you down"
Saying the above words, means a loss of one's dignity, an indication of selflessness.
But now, not saying you love a woman hurts. Men would say: "Isn't this enough, doing in my capacity to provide for my family? "

The Bodyguard Movie Songs
The Bodyguard movie released in 1992 is one movie one would not forget, again depending in the situation of a relationship. It makes you long for a distant partner.
The movie is a romance-thriller where Kevin Costner played a Former Secret Service Agent turned bodyguard for Whitney Houston, a music star, to protect her from an unknown stalker who sent her death threats.
Rachel Marron (Whitney Houston) and Frank Farmer (Kevin Costner) had an affair, but Farmer broke off the relationship in order not to compromise his protection of her.
The film won two MTV Movie Awards in Europe for Best Movie and Best Movie Song for “I Will Always Love You.

My children love Christopher Reeve as Superman, but I didn’t have the time for it.
When my children and I watched "Somewhere in Time" in the theater, we loved it, story and characters. We love fantasies, but my children at that time believed that you could travel through time. Now, I know better, that is, if you believe in God.
I’ve watched the movie several times through DVDs, and I love it. The only thing that I don’t like is the sadness it brings to me (I am a very emotional person though I keep it hidden)
The music is really great, I won’t tire of listening to it. It got an award for Best Music from Saturn Award.

"All I Ask of You"
The Phantom of the Opera musical, is a widely acclaimed Broadway show which was later adapted into movie.
It was in the early 2000's when I first heard the song of the movie, "All I Ask of You". I was so touched.I was thinking that if only spouses would have this mutual protectiveness, warmth, and love, the marriage would last a lifetime. And commitment should be there, and if you're not a one man/woman person, don't get married. Stay single... till death.
The musical composition is so great that you would feel the warmth,and the love being conveyed by the music.

At least to me, I reacted this way: I felt the pure joy of being in love, although the song is in metaphor, the feeling is that as if my heart would be bursting with happiness(another metaphor). It is like the happiness of a child seeing the mother or father after a short period of separation.

Music
Music is a part of our lives. Seldom do I hear of people who is aversed to music.
Through music, you can convey your mood, your feelings which could be an expression of love, anger, frustration, and other emotions. I’d like to think that music is an expression of love, joy, happiness. It could also be about unrequited love.
When I again heard this song of Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi, which I first heard when it was sang by my son, I thought of creating a blog about the songs or music which I like and which you may like upon hearing it. It could trigger a a beautiful memory, so this blog is born!
